Located in the parish of Eadestown, Naas, County Kildare, Punchestown Racecourse is the home of Irish Jumps Racing and is renowned around the world as the home of the National Hunt racing in Ireland. Punchestown Racecourse is a right-handed, steeplechase track while also having the only cross county banks course in Ireland. The Punchestown season runs from mid-October to June, showcasing the best of jumps racing with races such as the Punchestown Festival, La Touche Cup and Ladies Cups providing a great spectacle for spectators as they run over Punchestown’s cross county course.
Punchestown has a portfolio of private suites available for use located on the panoramic grandstands with each offering their own unique characteristics. With elegantly fronted glass windows, the Panoramic Restaurant offers meals alongside the most beautiful of views of the track, perfectly located between the grandstand and parade ring you are sure to not miss out on any of the action. As well as this, Punchestown offer chalets located in the hub of the festival providing another memorable experience for you and your guests.
Punchestown is a day out for the whole family, with the Junior Jockey Fun Club taking places at selected race meetings providing an indoor entertainment area for families. With 6,000 square metres of fun for children, with bouncy castles, creative corners and games taking place, you can be sure your child will love a day at the races.
Looking for directions to Punchestown Racecourse?
Punchestown Racecourse is just over a 34 minute drive from Glenroyal Hotel & Leisure Club. To get to the races from our hotel, head west and turn right towards Straffan Road. At this point, turn left to join onto Straffan Road and continue onwards until you meet a roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit and stay on Straffan Road. Continue onwards until you meet another roundabout where you will again take the second exit onto Barberstown Road. Continue driving down the length of Straffan Road for approximately 5 kilometres before turning left. Drive along this road until you meet a roundabout where you will take the second exit, leading you to another roundabout where you will take the first exit. After this, continue onwards before turning right. Driving straight along this road will bring you to your location.
