Welcome to the newly refurbished Arkle Bar, featuring cosy plush 1920s decor alongside photos and artwork of the great Irish racing legend, Arkle. Arkle (19 April 1957 – 31 May 1970) was an Irish bay gelding thoroughbred racehorse. He was known to have a great way with people and stole the hearts of many across the world. Because of Kildare being famous for its many horse racecourses, we've named our hotel bar after its most famous horse who was known to be extremely gentle, full of old charm, and great spirit.
Arkle Bar & Restaurant offers guests a variety of culinary experiences. We use the finest, freshest locally grown produce, premium quality, free-range meats and the freshest seafood from the island of Ireland. Each dish is freshly prepared and cooked and is a dedication to our promise to use only the best quality ingredients.
Within Arkle Bar, you'll find The Enclosure Restaurant and The Terrace at Arkle. The Enclosure at Arkle offers an upscale and intimate raised dining area with dark and light oak timber finishes, luxurious velvet fabrics and brass decorative lighting. Elegant and thoughtfully planned modern menus make The Enclosure is perfect for for all occasions. The Terrace at Arkle is a beautifully decorated outdoor space located just off the entrance to Arkle Bar. With it’s gorgeous floral-inspired design, retractable roof and cosy heaters, it’s the perfect spot to wine and dine al-fresco style, even in the cooler months.
