What time is check-in/check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm each day. Check-out is at 12.00 pm midday.


Can I request a late check out?

Yes, you will need to request this when booking your stay or you can request at reception when checking-in. There may be a charge for this request.


How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

Maynooth lies just 33km south-west of Dublin Airport, around 40 minutes travel time by car. The Glenroyal Hotel offers a Taxi Service with trips from Maynooth to Dublin Airport for €70 (subject to availability). Click here to learn more about Taxi Services.


How long will a taxi journey from Dublin Airport take?

A taxi will take approximately 30 minutes from Dublin Airport to our hotel, this is without traffic. Please give extra time in your schedule for traffic. The cost of a taxi will vary, the driver-average fee will range from €50-75 depending on traffic and number of passengers. If you would like to book an airport to the taxi, please let us know on your arrival, we can book it for you in-house. This service is subject to availability if you book on the day.


What is the adult age requirement to stay in the hotel?

Adults staying in The Glenroyal Hotel must be over 21 years of age, if under the age of 21 years you must be accompanied by an Adult. Customers may be required to show proof of ID.


What forms of payment are accepted?

A valid credit or debit card is required to check in to the hotel, guests may use cash or credit/debit card at check-out to settle their bill. A cash security deposit of €200 or pre-authorisation of a credit card may be requested on check-in.


Does your hotel offer parking?

What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served from 7.30am-10.00am Monday-Friday, and 8am to 11am on weekends.


What are the dining options?

Shoda Market Café welcomes you Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 8am to 4pm. During the week you can enjoy a delicious breakfast menu available from 8am to 11:30am, and a variety of lunch options served daily from 12pm to 3pm. On weekends, Shoda offers a brunch menu from 8am to 3:30pm for a leisurely dining experience.

Arkle Bar opens from 3pm on weekdays and from 12pm on weekends, offering bar bites daily starting at 3pm.

The Enclosure Restaurant serves dinner every evening from 5pm to 9pm, inviting you to savor a refined dining experience in the heart of Maynooth.


Do you cater for food allergies?

We do indeed cater for food allergies. If you have any special dietary requirements, please notify a member of staff.

Do you allow smoking?

The Hotel operates a strict no smoking policy and guests found to break this policy will receive fines. Designated smoking areas are provided outside the hotel. This includes e-cigarettes (vapes).


Do you have a leisure centre?

The Glenroyal Leisure Club includes a full leisure centre complete with a recently renovated fitness centre, 1 x 20 metre adult heated swimming pool, 1 x 20 metre family heated swimming pool, saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzi & HydroSpa. Click here to read more about our leisure centre.


What facilities do you offer families?

We have a selection of family rooms, including 2 King Size beds catering for 2 adults and up to 3 children. Our Leisure Club has 20m indoor family pool which is open until 7pm. Children must also be accompanied by an adult while using the swimming pool. Swim Hats are compulsory.

We hold the Lenny Lion's Kids Club for children aged 4 and over from 5.pm-9pm on Saturdays and daily throughout school holidays. There is also a playground opposite the Glenroyal Hotel beside Maynooth Train Station. Please click here to see our Family Attractions.


What local attractions are available near the hotel?

You can walk the Royal Canal situated right beside the Glenroyal, St Patrick's College, Carton Avenue all offer stunning views for a quiet stroll. Maynooth Castle offers local culture and history. Experience the excitement of horse racing at the Curragh, Leopardstown, Punchestown or Naas. If you have your golf clubs with you, there are a variety of golf courses such as Carton House's O'Meara or Montgomery golf courses while the K Club is less than 15 minutes from our hotel. Dublin city centre is just 40 minutes on the Dart from the hotel, offering a variety of tourist attractions including the Guinness Storehouse and Dublin Zoo. Do you have interconnecting rooms?

Yes there are interconnecting rooms available at request @ per room rate.


Do you have wheelchair accessible rooms?

Yes. We have rooms available that are wheelchair accessible. Please highlight that you require a wheelchair accessible room when making your booking. Please also feel free to contact us about any special needs you may have. If there is anything else we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please do not hesitate to ask.


What is your cancellation policy?

Should you wish to cancel the booking, we will accept cancellations 12 noon the day prior to arrival. After this, we will charge a rate of one night’s accommodation as a cancellation charge. For large group bookings, one week's notice will need to be given to cancel booking
