Glenroyal Hotel is pleased to offer complimentary Sensory Kits, available on request with any hotel booking. Created with support from Maynooth Autism Friendly Town, our kits were designed to help guests with sensory needs to feel more comfortable and at ease during their stay.
How to Book Your Sensory Kit
Sensory Kits are complimentary and available upon request. You can reserve one in two ways:

About Our Sensory Kits
Our Sensory Kits include: Ear defenders, liquid floor tiles, fidget toys, colour-changing lights, air cushion, blackout tent & more. They are ideal for:
Families: Many guests travelling with family members who are autistic or who have dementia or ADHD can benefit from a calmer, more predictable room environment.
Guests seeking a quieter stay: The kit’s items, such as ear defenders and a blackout tent, can help reduce noise and light for anyone who finds this helpful.
A relaxing break for the whole family: Parents and carers can enjoy their stay knowing their room is set up to support their child’s comfort.
Wellbeing support: Items like weighted blankets and fidget toys are commonly used to help with focus, stress reduction, and self-regulation.
Weighted Blanket Add-On
In addition to our Sensory Kits, we can also offer guests the use of a weighted blanket. They provide firm, even pressure that some people find calming, especially when they feel overwhelmed or unsettled.
Maynooth Autism Friendly Town
Glenroyal Hotel’s Sensory Kits were developed with support from Maynooth Autism Friendly Town (MAFT). MAFT is a local committee working to make Maynooth a more inclusive place for autistic people and their families. MAFT runs community initiatives such as autism awareness events, a social club for autistic children and teens, and a network of local “Autism Champions” who make small, practical changes within their own organisations.
