Watch The Rugby World Cup 2023 at Arkle Bar

The Rugby World Cup is one of the largest sporting stages in the rugby world. It will see countries from all over the world come together to compete for the title of World Champions. This year the tournament will take place in France from the 8th  September to 28th October 2023 with the matches being played in 9 different host cities around the country.

So how does the world cup work?  There are four pools that have five countries in each. The teams in the pools will play each other once with the top two teams that win the most games gaining a spot in the knockout stages.  This year is the 10th anniversary of the cup and defending champions South Africa are looking to go for two in a row while host nation France are trying to be the first host nation to lift the trophy.

The Irish boys in green will have a lot of pressure on their shoulders as they are currently ranked number 1 in the world and are coming into the tournament with a 6 Nations Grand Slam title. They will be hoping to break through and progress past the quarter-finals which is something they have been unable to do up to now.

The tournament will also see four Irish officials involved. Joy Neville will make history by becoming the first female official to take part in the men’s world cup tournament.

Watch all the action live in Arkle Bar on our 138” TV Screen.  Grab a cold pint with friends and cheer on the boys in green with us this Rugby World Cup Season.

We will have World Cup Nations Special dishes available and there will also be live music in the bar following the Ireland matches.
