Golfing is a popular activity in and around Maynooth thanks to the great selection of golf courses nearby.
Carton House which is home to two famous championship golf courses, O'Meara and Montgomerie. Choose from the classic parkland O’Meara which meanders through ancient woodlands and the banks of the river Rye or play on the soil many a legend has with the challenge of the inland links Montgomerie.
The K Club which is a 15 minute drive from the Glenroyal Hotel, is recognised as one of Ireland's and Europe's most spectacular golf courses; The Palmer North and South. Designed by Arnold Palmer, both courses have a dramatic and challenging layout with a spectacular scenery.
From the hotel, continute to Straffan Road then onto Convent Lane, follow Duboyne Road to R157. At the roundabout continue straight onto R157, make 3 lefts and Carton House Golf Club will be on your left.

From the Glenroyal, continue onto Straffan Road, at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Straffan Road, at the second roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Barberstown Road. Turn right toward Churchfield, continue on and The Palmer Ryder Cup Course will be on your right.
