Arthur's Way is a heritage trail across northeast County Kildare that follows in the footsteps of Arthur Guinness. In just 16 km, it links many of the historic sites associated
with Ireland’s most famous brewers – the Guinness family. Follow the Royal Canal beside the Glenroyal Hotel, to start the trail in Leixlip at the Arthur Guinness Square.

Maynooth Castle is a 4 minute drive or 7 minute walk from Glenroyal Hotel. It is a mid to late 12th century castle which in the summer months holds a detailed exhibition on the history of the Fitzgerald family, one of the most important Anglo-Norman families in Ireland.
